About Me
Hypnotherapist – Lorraine Gleeson
Having experienced hypnotherapy myself, it set me on the road to studying the mind and training in hypnotherapy.
The way we think can affect so many aspects of our lives. Helping people explore positive changes is such a rewarding career. I believe we all have inner resources that can help us move toward fulfilling and happier lives.
I’m interested in you as a person and what you’d like to achieve in your life. Appointments are usually around an hour and a half, giving you time to feel comfortable and ask any questions you may have. Each session is centred around you and your goals.
It’s important that you feel relaxed and at ease with the process of hypnosis. I also provide recordings to take away, designed to support you in making positive changes and encouraging more helpful thinking patterns.
My Hypnotherapy Journey
Over 30 years ago, I found myself in a difficult place—emotionally and financially. I was a young single parent, my business was failing, and I didn’t know how I was going to pay the mortgage.
Someone suggested hypnotherapy. At the time, I had no idea how it might help—but I was open to trying something new. I had previously tried counselling, but personally found it wasn’t the right fit for me. I found myself questioning everything and feeling more overwhelmed.
So I booked my first session of hypnotherapy—borrowing the money to do so. I didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be a turning point for me.
After the first session, I felt calmer and found myself responding differently to situations. It was a shift I hadn’t experienced before. I went on to have four sessions, and for me, it made a meaningful difference.
Of course, no therapy is a magic wand, and life still brings its ups and downs. But for me, hypnotherapy has been a valuable tool for inner peace and resilience. I continue to use it as part of my self-care today. In fact, I still have hypnotherapy regularly, because I truly believe that when your mind is in a good place, you can deal with life in a much calmer and more relaxed way.
That early experience inspired me to train and eventually make this my profession. I feel very fortunate to do something I love and to work with people who are ready for change—whatever that may look like for them.
